Dirty Susan 03:38
This whispering worries me the sneaking is terribly disconcerting you're flirting with fire exerting your vile vindictive though predictable syllables drilling your illness corrupt and villainous with an evil intent an unscrupulous willingness to congragate clouds of suspicion and doubt scattering stones when the first shots rang out nowhere to be found when the first shots rang out. look what you've learned oh the prizes you've earned the angels are falling with wings bent and burned you laughed in the shadows amused by this turn oblivious to the oncoming darkness and worms. slow creeping certainty of darkness and worms. Back in the alleys the rats have all rallied counting the bones there's no peace in the valley only the devils have an accurate tally but they'll never admit to the score just madly cackle at our unfortunate ways just madly cackle through our misfortune and fray Susan oh Susan, your clothes are all ruined, sullied and soiled from the things you been doing they'll find you down where the poison is pooling the rumor is she drowned but they're really not fooling anybody anyway we're all familiar with her ways she simply outstayed her welcome billowing volumes of thick black smoke enough to make old scratch choke she's gone but not forgotten the crimes so true and rotten immortalized by hateful lies cruelly claiming your prize only fangs remain to claim some fame in the shape of wounds we can all recognize Look what you learned, the prizes you've earned. the angels are falling with wings bent and burned and you laughed in the shadows amused by this turn oblivious to the oncoming darkness and worms the slow creeping certainty of darkness and worms.

She lives a life of no regret she's got a tornado inside of her head stars dot her eyes and serpents are circling around her bed her lips drip wet with rubies and her eyes go on forever her words are hot as the desert wind and her heart changes like the weather but I am not so kind I am not so kind I'm gonna burn your house right down It's there, it's there in her eyes its there, the 10,000 hot and burning stares she's the curse I do deserve and I haven't got a prayer She ain't afraid of nothing she's following her heart she leaves a wake a mile wide of all the ones she's blown apart but I am not so kind I am not so kind I'm gonna make you mine... I'm gonna burn your house right down.

Dead Hand 03:51
Under the ground getting all over town it's 17 paces and its off to the races he's got beady rat eyes and he's prone to long chases when he seems disappeared he's most certainly near the presence conceals it you no sooner feel it curious, flirtingly than a cold pallid certainty the chill's overpowering at the icy deflowering of the dead hand dead hand clawing and gnawing your temperatures falling dead hand dead hand heave ho down we go i said heave ho and down we go into the tunnels and the black earth below cold dread tendrils invading each ventricle it's on every face we're all in the wrong place its the wrongest of times deeply steeped in the crime that's slowly unfolding in the serpentine hold of the dead hand dead hand clawing and gnawing your temperature's falling dead hand its the dead hand

Misery is easy if that's all your after don't bother looking for me swinging from the rafters i came for the dancing stayed for the disaster the sadness and sorrow that followed so closely after mystery and desire that's gasoline and fire and time is a razor carving us all into liars You said to me, you had to be free and that you truly were the wind and you go where it takes you, even though it may break you Like it broke me as your lover and then your friend I can't look you in the eyes no not anymore I wasn't playing when I stated we'd sailed off to war But our ship wasn't sturdy and the sea was so strong we sailed straight for the storm should've known we couldn't last long with words like axes and hammers you sat and you stammered it's scary to know something is so true how the hell could i figure, the pain would so linger and all those words would mean nothing so soon. every kiss that you kiss is really just a kiss really just a kiss goodbye i suppose i should be content that for even one moment i truly got lost in your eyes i came for the dancing stayed for the disaster and the sadness and sorrow that followed so closely after mystery and desire that's gasoline and fire and time is a razor carving us all into liars but our ship wasn't sturdy and the sea was so strong we sailed straight for the storm should've known we couldn't last long

Rio Rojo 04:49
Let's go hopping trains lets go dancing in the rain sending messages that we can not explain Don't you tell nobody how I feel about you and don't you dare tell me when your heart decides its through I don't think I could take the strain knowing that i'll never hear you say my name that way again just disappear leave without a trace then you won't see the tears that go rolling down my face red river red river send liquor down my liver when you talk that way it gives me the shivers guess I'll wait here til the end of the winter. seasons may pass and nothing ever lasts lets forget where we've been and just step on the gas i'd follow you through fields of landmines i'll believe all my own lies if it buys me just a little more time. Red river red river send liquor down my liver I'm not one for sharing but I've always been a giver. When you talk that way it gives me the shivers I guess I'll wait here til the end of winter. it won't be long til you forget every word to every song river keeps roaring no matter who get's drowned Where will I be, when you forget all about me Don't worry for me baby, the memories are all I need. Red river red river send liquor down my liver I'm not one for sharing but I've always been a giver. When you talk that way it gives me the shivers I guess I'll wait here til the end of winter. Let's go hopping trains, lets go dancing in the rain Feeling things that we cannot explain Let's go hopping trains lets go dancing in the rain Pretending love never caused nobody any pain.

She was a strange girl a crack in the glass a little south of central off the beaten path well known around if not by name a little past eccentric little more than insane she don't trapeze when the moon is full don't step outside when its unseasonably cool she don't dance around in stocking feet and when the rain starts to fall she's been heard to repeat Rain rain come on down come on down and wash the ground rain rain come on down come on down and wash the ground Met her in fall, but by the time the ice thawed she was gone with the cold blew out like a squall gave no notice left only this thrall, we're just spreading her word like Saints Peter and Paul walking down the tracks she ain't never coming back musta been dressed for Jesus to go walking like that was the stormy season wind kept the trees bent she walked out of town she sang as she went rain rain come on down come on down and wash the ground rain rain come on down come on down and wash the ground last one that saw her was old man Zeke and you can hear it in his voice every time he speaks what we carelessly sow we regretfully reap just because she was your lover don't make her yours to keep slipped away found some other bed to lay making her fortune in the usual way but when the rain clouds gather at the end of the day in the back of my mind i can still hear her say rain rain come on down come on down and wash the ground rain rain come on down come on down and wash the ground

She dreams black dreams when she cries herself to sleep starving in the garden with only forbidden fruit to eat where will you turn, when the judgement is returned? you're damned if you do, and you did ... so baby burn back in the hole back in the hole You don't tell time, time's telling you don't know how fast its going, but you'll know when its through we build up our castles, all grand and immense but only in its ashes will we know what it meant back in the hole back in the hole I bit in your fruit and spit out the seeds six months in the darkness look what happened to me the sweeter the poison the surer the kill there's room at the table and we'll all have our fill back in the hole back in the hole
