Bitter winds a carving great wide scars along the trees
inky darkness in the forest drips below the moonlit leaves
gypsies roam the open road with tricks up every sleeve
harrowing tales unlock all calm resolve with the ease skeleton keys
little red go riding out into the woods
the beasts are hiding in the dark, crawling on four foot
they've got the scent and know where you went hear your heart beating in your chest
while the moon sits high in the jet black sky the wolves will never rest

don't come to this table
with no knowledge of fables

here we're still fighting with teeth and with claws
it's one wrong step and you're thrown out to the dogs.

Peter Stubb got caught with fresh human flesh out in the fields
they broke all his bones and tied him to a wagon wheel
they cut away his limbs so he could not escape his grave
his head it was removed and put on a spike out on display
and the children still sing to Peter's lonely head
no rest even in death in a place that don't forgive nor forget
when the devil takes your soul and makes of you his hound
the wickedness of this world it will follow you right down
